Greilick / Detroit News) Michigan guard Trey Burke, who debated leaving for the NBA after his freshman season but returned and was the consensus national player of the year, was drafted by the Minnesota Timberwolves with the ninth pick Thursday night. NBA commissioner David Stern made the announcement from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. Burke was taken one spot after the Pistons took Georgia shooting guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope with the eighth pick.
